Donate a car,
help build a home.

Donate your car, truck, motorcycle, or boat. Running or not, towing is free!

Cars for Homes turns your car donation into cash that supports Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership programs.

You can donate your vehicle in 3 easy steps:

  1. Start your donation online by navigating to our donation wizard, or call our hotline: 1-877-277-4344.
  2. Our team will ask you to provide information such as vehicle make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN) and current mileage.
  3. If your vehicle is accepted, you can schedule your car to be picked up (typically 3-5 business days).

Donating your car or other vehicle to Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County through the Cars for Homes™ program can have three positive outcomes:

  1. Net proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle, or its parts, support our efforts to partner with families in Frederick County as they pursue affordable homeownership.
  2. You contribute to a cleaner environment by taking an inefficient, older car off the road and allowing the materials to be recycled or reused.
  3. Your donation may qualify you for a tax deduction (consult your tax advisor or the IRS for details).

It is quick and easy to donate a vehicle whether it runs or not! Once your donation is submitted, pickup is typically scheduled within 3–5 business days, depending on availability in your area. Whether reused for transportation, recycled for parts, or remanufactured into steel products, donated cars in Frederick County generate funds that build Habitat for Humanity homes or renovate and repair existing homes to be safe for their owners.
