Honoring President Carter

December 30, 2024 — Today, we join so many around the world in mourning the loss of President Jimmy Carter, a true hero for affordable housing and a lifelong advocate for people in need.

President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, showed us what it truly means to serve others. Through their incredible work with Habitat for Humanity, they not only built homes but also built hope for families everywhere. Their hands-on dedication inspired millions and brought attention to the importance of safe and affordable housing.

Here at Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, we’re deeply grateful for the example President Carter set. His kindness, compassion, and belief in the power of community are a legacy we’ll continue to honor in our work every day.

Our hearts are with the Carter family as we celebrate a life so beautifully lived. Let’s carry his spirit forward by building homes, communities, and hope—together.
