Linganore High Student’s Senior Project to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

Frederick – Linganore High student Katie Brois is organizing a youth concert for Sunday, May 1 from 1 pm to 9 pm at the Mt. Airy Fireman’s Carnival Grounds Activity Center. “Katie decided she wanted to do something rather different for her senior project,” said Dee Danmeyer, executive director of Habitat for Humanity, “so she thought of getting various youth bands of the area to play for an hour each then donating the funds to a worthy cause.”

Admission will be $5 per person and all proceeds will go to Habitat except for the $400 rental fee for the activity center. “I need several volunteers to help with staffing a concession stand and taking admissions and I also need donations of food, beverages and prizes for the event,” Katie said. “Everyone can really get excited about this; it will be an awesome time for a good cause,” she added.

The bands that will be performing are A Frail Winter Rose, The Fallen Lie, James Slay Kelly, Karmella’s Game, Something Pure, Meet Me at the Vertigo, The Gorgeous and Remaking Eden.

Persons or businesses interested in volunteering or donating should call the Habitat office at
301-698-2449.
