Donating to Frederick County Habitat for Humanity
Money, Land, and Building Materials

Donating Money

Donations of any amount---even the very smallest---are welcome and important. They all help provide affordable housing to those in need.

Persons eager to support Habitat financially can donate money in various ways: a one-time gift; or money given regularly on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. We accept bequests.

In the past, donations have ranged from $25.00 to $100,000.00. A $25 gift helps buy needed building supplies. A $100,000 donation will pay for the land and all building costs for a one-family Habitat home.

Donating Land

Landowners can donate land to Habitat even if they no longer have subdivision rights. Such land donations are tax deductible. Habitat will handle all aspects of the transaction with no costs to the donor.

There are two ways to donate land.

1) Show us the acreage you want to donate and we will provide all the related costs to make your gift a reality. You get the tax write-off.

2) If a partial donation, we pay a percentage of the value of the land and you donate the remaining value which is tax-deductible.

Outright Purchase

In some cases, Habitat will purchase the land at full value.

For more information about donating land, e-mail us or call 301-698-2449.

Donating Building Materials:

Habitat will gladly accept new building materials. But, such donations must coincide with the appropriate building phase since we do not have a place to store materials.

On the other hand, if you can store the donated materials until we do need them, this will greatly help our mission.

For more information about donating building materials,
