Church Women United founded the chapter in 1993 seeing the need for affordable housing in the area. Since 1995, Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, Md. has: Built 15 homes in Frederick and renovated three others in Frederick (18 homes in the City of Frederick in all) Built five homes in Frederick County: Buckeystown, Adamstown (Episcopal Build), and Brunswick (Methodist Build); Walkersville (Walkersville Interdenominational Habitat Build); Emmitsburg Has plans for:: Building No. 24 in Emmitsburg in 2005 (date unknown) The organization’s community partners are area corporations, businesses, churches and individuals.
